Recently we had a full day meditation and self-empowerment session in Waterloo Community center, Canada. One of the topics that was discussed and experienced in depth was Peace Profound. Here are its highlights:
1. What is Peace Profound?
- Calmness
-Contentment
- Equilibrium
- Steady Disciplined mind
- Positive Responsive attitude
-Core Awareness
-Connection
-Freedom, love and joy
-Good health and comfortable living.
2. What is not Peace Profound?
-Chattering of mind (it concerns mind).
-Disturbance (it concerns mind).
-Anger (it concerns mind).
- Frustrations (it concerns mind).
- Anxiety (it concerns mind).
- Pain, sickness and uncomfortable living (it concerns body and mind).
- Helplessness (it concerns mind).
- Rushing (it concerns mind).
- Hopelessness (it concerns mind).
- Fearful (it concerns mind).
- Restless (it concerns mind).
- Depression (it concerns mind).
-Torn apart/fractured relationships (it concerns mind).
- Retaliates (it concerns mind).
- Complaining/negative attitude (it concerns mind).
- Subjected to endless desires (it concerns mind).
- Deep attachments/possessiveness (it concerns mind).
From the above symptoms it is clear that if we can get around our minds we can experience profound peace in our day to day living. So let's look at mind.
3. What is Mind?
-- Unseen entity centered around thoughts, feelings and emotions
-- Self-made program that keeps chattering if not disciplined. This program can be modified, even substituted.
-- Monkey (that can be trained as we like).
-- It fits into this hierarchy: the senses are superior to the body; superior to the senses is the mind; superior to the mind is the intellectual understanding. And superior to the intellect is the SELF (divinity within).
4. What do we need to do to be peaceful?
-- Decide to be peaceful. Check on a scale of 1 to 10 the strength and quality of your decision.
-- Acknowledge that you are not at peace. Also acknowledge that you can be at peace.
-- Be still and know what you need to do more specifically to be peaceful.
-- In stillness know the SELF and control body, senses, mind and intellect by the SELF.
5. Peace Profound Meditation
The group went into about 50 minutes silent meditation to relax, to stop the chattering of mind and to uniquely know what they needed to do to realize peace profound. The sublime method used for meditation centered around oneness of trinity of Synergy, Self/Spirit and individual attention at all the energy centers. The group came up with the realization of unique items that will contribute to individual peace such as health, painless, prosperity, smooth family, contentment, know life's purpose, love, freedom and joy...etc.
6. Individual Responsibility
Once again it was emphasized that it is our individual prime responsibility to:
- Consistently uplift our spirits.
- Consistently move forward
- Consistently help those who are inclined in this direction.
7. Barriers to Peace Profound
- Lack of decision to make a tangible move towards being peaceful.
- Ego/False Pride
- Doubting the SELF/divinity within and Seeing the same in others.
- Not taking the time needed to subdue the chattering mind and seeing the individual truths as applicable.
- Not being responsible to take initiative with the personalized peace and harmony.
-Blaming others for the absence of self-peace.
8. Silence
The group members were encouraged to go into silence and identify at least three aspects (if possible) which will uniquely give them peace profound. Follow these steps in so doing:
- Observe
- Absorb
- Contemplate
- Establish
- Do
- Let go
9. Connectivity
- Quality of connectedness/togetherness
- Synergy
- Rejuvenation
In this regard, all group members felt enthused to understand and feel the divinity in all human beings. The word "Namastey" which means the individual divinity within respects and offers to meet the divinity with the other human being. Although this word is used as hi/hello/greeting, its deep meaning is hardly understood and felt. Everyone has a place deep within that is peaceful, loving, aware, truthful and joyful. Let "Namastey" be vibrating from that individual silent region to another one's same region with deep understanding and feelings. This practice resonates pure vibrations of connectivity.
Connectivity, as with other things, has five aspects:
- Physical Connectivity....temporary in nature
-Emotional Connectivity...mostly conditional in nature
- Intellectual Connectivity... logical and rational...limited in nature
- Spiritual Connectivity...Transcendental, pure, divine (SELF to SELF).
-Universal Connectivity...Infinity, global resonance, all sustaining Synergy
In the spiritual and universal connectivity, it is very uplifting to understand, feel and establish oneself in, "I am That (divine in nature), you are That, He/she is That...We are all That." Once this is known, there is no more delusion. And through this divinity we shall see all beings in our SELF and also in the Universal Self. And that's Peace Profound/Supreme.
10. Conclusion
" That in which the mind, restrained by the practice of concentration, rests quiescent; that in which, seeing the SELF through understanding and openness, one rejoices in one's own SELF;
That which one knows the boundless joy beyond the reach of the senses and grasped only by the experiencing the SELF; that in which being established, one never departs from Reality;
That on gaining which one thinks there is no greater gain, and wherein established one is not moved even by the heaviest of sorrows-
Let that be known as yoga/meditation, which is severance from the contact of pain. It is to be practiced with perseverance and with an undaunted mind."....Gita 6-20 to 23.
In essence, dwell more within and around on peace, harmony and unity. And consciously come out from disturbance, disharmony and separation/division as quickly as possible. Peace within is peace outside. Decide positively in favor of peace profound and it is waiting for you to directly experience its magic. It is all yours if you are all it's. And proportionately so. As simple as that.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti / Om Peace Peace Peace!!!
With Best Wishes............Ram Varma
